Prologue Equipment Rack, Top Platform and Amp Stands

We've discovered that stands, shelves and the enclosure of a component are major contributors to vibrations. Many materials that are commonly used to to manufacture shelves and racks, such as marble, granite, glass and most metals, actually aggravate the vibration and resonance problems. Manufacturers design their enclosures for appearance, convenience and cost reasons, with little or no attention to vibration control.

Rack

The Prologue rack features four shelves constructed of specially-selected solid wood segments that are 1.5 inches thick and assembled by alternating the density and grain similar to butcher-block construction. This creates resonance control and isolation and improves rigidity. The shelves are 28 x 25 inches.

Spacing between the four shelves can be customized at the time of order, but are then locked in place with four 0.75-inch solid brass threaded rod and nuts. The brass rod and nuts are covered with carbon fiber tubes which are filled with pellets that dampen and absorb vibration. Four threaded adjustable locking 2-inch Valid Points cones serve as the feet for the rack.

The rack in beautiful Jatoba wood is finished with five hand-rubbed coats of premium tung oil giving a natural luster to the wood finish. We do this for two reasons. First, it is beautiful. Second, if you scratch it, the oil finish can be easily restored unlike painted finishes. Just lightly sand the scratched area and apply a new coat of tung oil, available at any home improvement store, and the stand will look good as new.

Height of standard rack with Top Platform is 43 inches. Shelves are 1.5 inches thick.

Top Platform

The Prologue Top Platform may be purchased separately to sit on your equipment rack. It is constructed in the same manner as the shelves by alternating the density and grain of the segments. It is 28 x 19 x 3 inches. It comes with 12 pieces of special Sorbothane pads (4 x 4 x .75 inches) which are wrapped in silk.

Amp Stands - Your amplifier will sound like it is on steroids!

Most amplifier stands are designed to look good and get the amplifiers off the carpet. A few add some type of soft isolation. They do very little in the way of improving the sound. Most actually hurt the sound.

Our amp stand evolved from our research developing a platform for our Proscenium Black Diamond Turntable. We applied this research to the development of an amplifier stand with stunning results. Your system will have bass, speed and transparency that is to die for. You won't believe it's the same system!

Our amp stand is made of specially-selected solid wood segments and assembled by alternating the density and grain direction, similar to butcher block construction. This creates different resonance conduction and isolation breaks while improving rigidity. Size: 28 x 19 x 3 inches

Each stand is fitted with four Valid Point cones. If you have carpet, you will sit the amp stand directly on the carpet. If you have wood floors, you should purchase the optional four discs to sit the cones into so your floors will not be scratched.
