"....the Reference HDLs have brought a truly stunning difference to my system...mostly in placement and separation of voices and instruments...rhythm and pace has also improved...(more) dynamics across the entire frequency range, nothing is overemphasized....Am I a happy camper? You bet, so thanks Lloyd for making great products that do make an improvement and not just a difference....my friend Charlie...was gobsmacked at the improvement he heard..."BP

Positive Feedback Online - Issue 1  June 2002

by Dave Clark  web link

"...Smoother, cleaner, more "natural" with no loss of detail or dynamics.. our system just sounds better with them than without. We related better to what we are playing regardless of format - analog or digital.. The Walker Audio Ultimate High Definition Links are the next step in realizing the potential of your system - not a tweak, but the next step. Highly recommended..."

Audiolics Anonymous Chapter 25 by Bill Gaw

about the Ultimate HDLs, he writes ".. having heard what the originals did, I couldn't see how he could improve on them.  Well, Bunky, he did.....I think the improvement in any high end system, especially one where only one set is needed, would be well worth the cost.  And Lloyd even offers a 30 day no questions asked refund.  Of course, I don't expect anybody will get their money back, as I doubt anybody will be able to part with them."

Audiolics Anonymous Chapter 24 by Bill Gaw

" they do a wonderful job at cleaning up signal grunge...While Lloyd claims their biggest improvement is in the mid range and high end clarity, I have found them to make the biggest improvement in my woofers...I went crazy a couple of weeks ago when my center channel started sounding edgy and unbalanced compared to the two main speakers.  After doing everything imaginable, I looked at the speaker posts and found that one of the legs of the mid-tweeter driver input's HDL had disconnected.  Once replaced, the image took on its original beauty... Moral of the story: 1. The HDLs do what they're supposed to. 2. They're worth the price especially if you have high end speakers as they do their best work on the best. 3. You can't go back once you've heard the best."

"...each of his products works as described, are the best of the best, and while expensive, are worth every penny."

Earmarked! - "Blocks and Links..."

by Srajan Ebaen

"Do the HDLs work? Like a charm.... You gain potent enhancements in clarity, treble sweetness, transient speed and microdynamic scale. The most surprising improvement ( as SoundStager Bill Cowen noticed in his system) may occur in terms of bass definition and enhanced delineation. Don't assume that the HDL's point of attack in the ultrasonic region won't affect the entire audible spectrum -- it does."

B.K. included the following comments in the article:

"Nothing makes my Sound Labs, my ProAcs, my Red Roses, my Meadowlarks or my Soliloquy 6.2s sing like those damned things.  I can't live without them."

Listener Magazine July/August 2001

Mike Peshkin highly recommends the Walker High Definition Links (HDLs) in the July/August issue, pp. 92-94.

He recalls a day after a storm when "the sky was so incredibly clear that it seemed you could almost see the night sky in the middle of the day....We thought we could see stars -- that is how clear the sky was that afternoon....And that is what the High Definition Links do to my music." He continues: "When I listened with the Links back on the speakers, I found that the kettledrums play throughout the piece! Folks, I realize that those drums were there with the Links; I just didn't notice them without those things!"
And he says: "This is what your $295 gets you: more music, and more realism within the music. If it were only the audiophile improvements that I heard, I'd say I could probably live without these things. But, that ain't the case"

"Their impact surpasses many speaker cable up-grades that cost one or two thousand more, they also surpass many equipment upgrades. The thirty-day grace period and two year warranty should be sufficient for anyone to take the plunge. Try this for yourself."

Ultimate Audio: Spring 2000: "High Impact Accessories" by Frank Peraino

"At $295 a pair, I can't think of a more cost effective improvement. With the Walker HDLs, you may just find that missing audio link. Most highly recommended."

"As I see it: High Definition Links are simple solution to an age old problem.  Their design and size allows them to be used with virtually all speakers.  Once your system is VHFN/RFI free, the music can relax.  I was immediately impressed with the detail, focus and imaging... You don't know what you've been missing until its in your room!  Transients are faster and have great impact.  High Definition Links won't make bad recordings sound good, but they make good recordings sound great!"

"the Mark III HDLs...are astounding!!!

It's like the music is right there in the room with me and, of course, there is absolutely no background hiss or other sign of RF interference.

I knew they were for real when my first response after installing them and putting on a SACD was to jump up and turn the volume on my stereo down from its normal level.

And it's not just the fact that the music comes through more clearly and cleanly.  The Mark IIIs are obviously doing something I haven't been able to put my finger on yet, but it's like my stereo system just went up several notches in cost/quality, i.e., the realism I'm hearing is unlike anything I've heard from any other system.  And my friends are all audiophiles with stereos that cost as much as my house and yet I feel I could put my system up against theirs today and come away with first prize.  Seriously..." "Just installed ref. HDL's on my Infinity RS1b's (needed two sets) and must say they are one of the most dramatic improvements in quite some time (up there with component upgrade!)...REALLY IS WORTH IT!!!" Perditty

"I've had them on my Silverlines and would never think of taking them off..." Lissnr

"I am using the Walker HDL Reference links on my Watt's with excellent results. Lloyd Walker And his line of products are wonderful tools for us all." Johnjbarlow

AudioAsylum Posting October 24, 2006

"I installed a set of Walker Reference HDLs on my Dunlavy Cantatas about two months ago--the speakers are biwired, so it took four HDLs. According to Walker, these gizmos are supposed to suck up RFI before it gets to your speakers and thereby clean up the sound. Now, I live in Park City UT, where I assume we don't have the RFI found in more urban locales, but thanks to the 2002 Winter Olympics, we have plenty of cell towers. So I was a bit skeptical about what this 'tweak' might do for my system, but since they have a 30 day trial period...and yes, I have two isolated lines for my system plus a power regenerator to clean up the AC.

"I have my Comcast Tuner hooked into my system for background music--sounds pretty good but certainly not the type of output that will glue me to my couch like a good vinyl recording pumped through my analog rig. I had the cable music running while I unpacked the HDLs and read the instructions. Muted the amp while installing same, then fired it back up still pumping out cable tunes. Thirty minutes later, I realized I was glued to my couch listening to cable!

"This HDL tweak was simply one of the most awesome and immediately obvious improvements in my audio system in over 30 years of upgrading and tweaking. It is not a tweak; it is a major upgrade!

"Everything Lloyd says about these gems is true and then some. Much better harmonics, total removal of grain, wider, deeper sound stage, etc. And, of course, with decent input from my analog or digital front ends the improvement was even greater. I am simply blown away with how much more real, more live, more dynamic my system sounds now. I can't recommend this product highly enough." Jack65

AudiogoN Postings May 2007

"...the Walker Audio HDLs definitely do work. Several members of our local audio group have tried them in their systems, and not one has been willing to take them out again." Rushton

"I have the Reference HDLs on my Magnepans. They act to filter RFI, with the result being the elimination of "hash" in the upper frequencies. Treble information is more natural sounding, soundstage width and depth seems greater. I didn't realize before that I had "hash", but it sure does sound better without it/with the HDLs in." Slipknot1

"The  man who designed my speakers...brought out his spectrum analyzer...The treble was noticeably smoother on the analyzer with the links in place, which might explain why I felt they seems to slightly lessen the high frequency "hash"...a tweak that works...." Rcprince

"They definitely work as advertised...Upper frequencies are more natural with less glare...his new Ultra Vivid for CDs and DVDs also works as advertised..." Earflappin

"I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the Reference HDLs!...They have literally opened up my system and have brought my listening enjoyment to new
levels. Listening is more relaxing...

Soundstaging width has increased dramatically, while vocalists and musicians really stand out! Transients seem quicker, while bass is deeper and tighter. I also notice that I do not have to turn up the volume level as high since the HDLs increase the perceived volume levels because they are reducing the interferences such that more music
emerges. The addition of the Reference HDLs seem more like a component upgrade than a "tweek"... I am very impressed! Keep up the good work. "GK

"First I have to say when I opened the box and looked at them (Reference HDLs)  I said to myself $650.00 for these they did not look like much. So then I hooked them up with your silver jumpers and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how they work but man o man what an awesome improvement.

I am hearing things I have never heard before in cd's I Iisten to all the time. I was looking to buy a new pair speakers but now with the  HDL's I don't need too. The HDL's are an AWESOME product.

So after I have had them hooked up for 2 weeks now I ask myself how can you sell them so cheap?"
