The
Prelude Record Cleaning System, introduced late last year, has been a
smashing success! Now, we have made it even more effective
with the introduction of the Prelude Step 4. The four-step system
which comes with four brushes is called Prelude Quartet
We are pleased to
offer the Prelude line of record cleaning products to
audiophiles who know and appreciate that analog is still the pinnacle of
recorded playback and who want to maximize their listening experience.
With
Prelude, you will hear a cleaner, more transparent soundstage, with
better harmonics and improved dynamics, top to bottom. You will hear
things you never heard before; even on LPs you’ve listened to many
times.
There are more nuances, more life, and more music in the
recording than you know and Prelude will reveal them to you while
establishing a more natural space for the performers to exist within.
Prelude
Quartet, our original Prelude Deluxe kit plus the new Step 4 high
resolution rinse and Step 4 brush, is everything you need for
ultra-cleaning your LPs using your vacuum cleaning machine. The
four steps are: enzyme cleaner, premixed vinyl cleaner, ultra-pure water
rinse, and new Step 4 High Resolution Rinse.
Each
step has its own dedicated brush to prevent
cross-contamination. It also comes with a tray to
sit the wet brushes in to minimize contamination from other sources and
protect other surfaces.

On Development of Step 4
We
love our customers and we’ve found that many of them are as
obsessive
as we are about getting the absolute best sound possible from an LP.
This takes us down some interesting paths sometimes as we seek to
develop different products and experiment with different techniques for
maximizing the audio experience...such as steam cleaning.
After some initial promising results, we found that steam
cleaners simply were not consistent in cleaning records and had a huge
downside....melted records.
While
this avenue of experimentation did not pan out, it did start us thinking
about how to get the records even cleaner. This led to the development
of our new Prelude Step 4, a special rinse that is the final step in the
Prelude record cleaning process. It gets down deeper into the grooves
and removes any remaining contaminants.
The
improvement in the sound is startling. We never expected this much
improvement was possible. It is amazing how much information an LP
contains.
FOR
CLEANING CDs
We
highly recommend that you treat CDs, SACDs, and DVDs with our Ultra
Vivid. Ultra Vivid cleans and optically enhances the discs. You will not
believe how good digital can sound until you actually hear the music as
it was recorded instead of the error correction system’s interpolation
of it. The improvement is
amazing. For best performance, do not use green or black markers on the
disc or put a green mat on top of your disc.
Used
in combination with the Talisman, the effect is doubled.
